Want to know what everyday people are saying about Republicans’ Big Budget Betrayal bill?
I recently spoke with residents in my district and here’s what they had to say:
"I think it’s only beautiful for the president and his friends."
"I think it’s the reverse Robin Hood. Take from the poor and give to the rich."
"It is terrible. And it doesn’t help the children."
But, while Republicans are home on their August recess, they’re not holding town halls. They’re not speaking with their residents. They’re celebrating how their bill hands trillions of dollars in tax breaks to their billionaire and corporate donors while slashing healthcare and investing in Trump’s inhumane attack on our immigrant neighbors.

Republicans are hoping that everyday people don’t know what’s in the Big Budget Betrayal bill. They better be ready for a rude awakening.
I recently spoke with residents in my district to hear what they had to say about this disastrous new law.
They called it "reverse Robin Hood."
They said, "the billionaires need to share the wealth and stop being so greedy."
And, when talking about how SNAP cuts are taking food from our kids, they said, "Why wouldn't you want our kids to be the biggest and the best?"
The cuts Republicans made are so deep that 15 million people are expected to lose their health insurance and 51,000 people will die preventable deaths each year. And why? To fund trillions of dollars in tax cuts for the rich and corporations, and power Trump’s illegal, inhumane mass deportation scheme.
Together, we’re saying hell no!

This Republican bill hands a $90,000 annual tax cut to households making over $1 million a year while working people get roughly $40. Not $40 a day. $40 a year. That’s enough for a cup of coffee a month. And that’s before accounting for the impact of cuts to our healthcare and SNAP benefits.
In just over six months, they have begun dismantling programs that have taken generations to build. But we won’t be silent. We will continue to organize our communities, rally in the streets, and object to Trump and the GOP’s government of, by, and for the billionaires.
