"They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you.' declares the Lord."
- Jeremiah 1:19
Africa & Europe
- Praise God for the prompt response of police to a case of domestic violence perpetrated against a young child in Uganda, in which they moved quickly to take statements after the case was reported. We are grateful to see our partnership with them growing and yielding good results.
Latin America
- Praise God for the opportunity to support adult survivors of sexual violence in Guatemala as they share their stories. Sharing your story of abuse and healing can be a powerful step toward restoration. Our team in the field is walking with survivors who experienced sexual violence as children, and when they feel ready to share, providing training on how to use their voices and stories for advocacy and change. Please pray for these survivors, that they would continue to be empowered to create change in their communities, and that their courage in sharing their stories would bring sustainable change.
South Asia
-
Please pray for our ongoing work with the government to assist migrant laborers trying to return home during the pandemic. Officials allowed thousands of migrants to travel during the lockdown over the last few months, but now several areas are going back into stricter lockdowns to curb spikes in COVID-19 infections. Please pray that the families who want to return to their home villages can do so safely and easily before travel restrictions are put back in place.
Southeast Asia
- Praise God for a rescue operation that took place last week in the Philippines, where police rescued eight victims of cybersex trafficking and arrested one suspect. One of the victims is a 27-year-old deaf woman who was the younger sister of the suspect; the youngest rescued is a 2-year-old boy. Pray for these survivors as they receive care and services, that they would feel truly safe.

Four years ago, Willie Kimani, our lead investigator for police abuse of power in Kenya, Joseph Muiruri our friend and trusted driver, and Josephat Mwenda, one of our courageous clients, were kidnapped and murdered by the police. As we mark the fourth anniversary of their murders, pray for the families of Willie, Joseph, and Josephat and those who grieve. Also pray that the trial for their perpetrators will resume soon and result in justice.
