This redraw could seriously impact families not only in South Florida, but also those across the U.S. But before I tell you more about WHY they're doing this, let me be clear. John, let's make something clear: the GOP is scared. As Americans express outrage over their decision to gut Medicaid, SNAP, and Social Security funding, Donald Trump and his administration know his policies aren't popular.

So in an attempt to protect Trump's MAGA agenda and their majority in Congress before the 2026 midterms, Trump is encouraging governors like DeSantis to squeeze more Republican districts out of their states—letting politicians pick their voters, instead of the other way around.

Desperate to fall in line, DeSantis is planning to eliminate as many Democratic districts as he can in a rare, mid-decade redistricting session. 

We're sounding the alarm about Trump, DeSantis, and MAGA extremists' attempt to silence South Florida's voters, but whatever district I end up in, no matter how close, I will continue to fight for our people and win re-election.
