Something big is coming to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. In celebration of World Elephant Day, we’re honored to announce that Denny Sanford Elephant Valley will officially open in early 2026. As a special member of our family, we wanted you to be the first to hear this exciting update. Soon, you’ll be able to walk side by side with the African elephant herd like never before.

Elephant Valley is the largest and most transformative project in our organization’s 109-year history. It offers a first-of-its-kind experience that transports you to the heart of savanna, where people and elephants coexist. Every detail was thoughtfully designed to reflect the sights, sounds, and smells of Africa’s sweeping grasslands while highlighting the vibrant cultures and local communities of our partners in Kenya.
