Do Black Lives Matter in Chicago?

by Newt Gingrich

I’m not being facetious. I ask the question: Do Black lives matter in Chicago as a serious commentary on our current crisis.

Last weekend, CBS 2 in Chicago reported from 5 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, there were more than 100 people shot – and at least 13 were killed. Twelve of these shooting victims were children, and five of them perished.

We do not yet know the demographic breakdown of this weekend’s victims, but we do know that African Americans accounted for roughly 81 percent of Chicago’s homicide victims in 2019 and 79 percent in 2018.

The CBS affiliate reported: “The children who were slain this weekend included 3-year-old Mekhi James, who was shot in the back while riding in a car with his stepfather in the Austin neighborhood on Saturday; 13-year-old Amaria Jones was struck by gunfire while inside her house Saturday night in the Austin neighborhood; two boys — ages 16 and 17 — who were gunned down as they were walking home from buying candy in the South Chicago neighborhood; and a 15-year-old boy who was shot in the leg, chest, and abdomen in a drive-by shooting early Monday in the Austin neighborhood (a 16-year-old boy also was wounded in that shooting, but survived).”

COVID-19 Health Care Breakthroughs – Real-Time Data Reporting One of the biggest advancements we’ve seen during the pandemic crisis is the development of rapid, on-site tests for COVID-19. Thanks to this innovation, the turnaround time for COVID-19 tests has been reduced from one week to one hour, or less. My special guest is Persivia’s chief executive officer, Dr. Mansoor Khan. A 20-year veteran of the software and health care industries, Dr. Khan is eminently qualified to discuss how to report data in real time — and how crucial it is to do so now for future outbreaks.

China Wants the World, and Don’t Forget It
By Aaron Kliegman

For decades, American elites argued that China would, over time, become a democracy through trade, global interdependence, and greater economic freedom. The theory was logical but wrong.

Order Now : Trump and the American Future: Solving the Great Problems of Our Time

Everything is changing.

From the spread of the coronavirus, to the highs and lows of the economy, and on to the election, 2020 will continue this process of change.

We don’t know yet which way the American people will go, but we can describe what is at stake as the radical democratic left continues to go all out to destroy President Trump and his followers. This wild period of change has been intensified by the virulent spread of COVID-19, but its roots go back to the summer of 2015.

This book puts this kaleidoscope of change into context and outlines the choices Americans face in what may be the most decisive election of our lifetimes. No presidential contest since 1860 has presented the American people with a decision more definitive than the 2020 election offers. It is the radical democratic left vs President Trump.

To understand what is at stake, and what must be done, read this book and share it with your friends and neighbors.

Easterseals: June Charity of the Month

Easterseals has worked to improve the lives of those with special needs for more than 100 years. Founded by prominent businessman Edgar Allen, the organization began as a hospital that was established following the death of Mr. Allen’s son in a streetcar accident. His work at the hospital provided first-hand experience that allowed Mr. Allen to notice the severe lack of support for children with disabilities. In 1919, Allen founded the National Society for Crippled Children to help address their unique challenges.
