Hi John — It's Yassamin's mom, Fariba. I want to tell you a little bit about my daughter, Yassamin. Then, I hope you’ll consider pitching in to support her work in Washington. [[link removed]]

PITCH IN [[link removed]]

When I came to this country, I was still in high school. I fled the Islamic Republic of Iran alone and ended up thousands of miles away from my family and my home. Settling here, in a new country halfway around the world, I could have never imagined that one day my daughter would be the youngest woman serving in Congress.

But that's Yassamin. She's never been limited by what others imagine is possible.

In elementary school, Yassamin was so drawn to public service that she created an “unofficial student government” and would host meetings during recess… and then she personally lobbied the principal until a formal student government was established the following year. She’s relentless.

In high school, she was one of the youngest organizers with the Arizona Democratic Party in our community. From her time at Stanford to her work as a senior climate policy advisor at the United Nations, Yassamin's always been a trailblazer.

So when Yassamin was elected to the Phoenix City Council in 2021 — becoming the youngest woman ever elected to the position and the first Iranian-American elected to public office in Arizona — I can't say I was surprised.

I knew Yassamin would do what she's always done: build coalitions, listen to real people, do her research, and fight for what's right. And that's exactly what she did.

Yassamin has never stopped working for affordable housing and healthcare, climate action, economic opportunities, and a better future for all of us. And now, in Washington, she’s fighting for everyday people and holding this administration accountable and standing up to big corporations that are hurting communities everywhere. I'm so proud to call her my daughter.

John, it would mean the world to have your support for the work she’s doing. Will you chip in today? [[link removed]]
