Even today, I continue to learn from his example: that empathy is strength, that optimism is a choice, and that we all have a role to play in building a better future.

His refusal to accept the status quo is particularly necessary as the world faces so many urgent crises — from economic uncertainty to attacks on science, data and health, to the devastating impacts of climate change that touch every community, especially our most vulnerable. We know so many are feeling the weight of these challenges, and that's exactly why the work of the Foundation endures and evolves:
