Dear Friend,

In February: We sued the Trump administration to stop oil drilling in our oceans.

In March: We sued the Trump administration to fight its clean energy funding freeze.

In April, May, June, July, and August: We sued to Trump administration to enforce coal power plant pollution safeguards, protect wind energy investments, and defend our national monuments from extraction.

We cannot promise we will win every lawsuit, but we promise we will never stop fighting.

We represent our clients free of charge in all our lawsuits, so every victory, every court filing, and every new attorney we hire is thanks to you.

Earlier this month, the Trump administration made their most dramatic attack on climate policy yet when they promised to roll back the “Endangerment Finding” — the legal basis for greenhouse gas regulations. Earthjustice is prepared to take legal action if the ruling is finalized. Donate today to support our lawsuits against the Trump administration.

Below are three of our lawsuits, each of which have significant climate implications.

Stopping the Sale of Our Oceans to the Oil Industry

The Trump administration is illegally attempting to open millions of acres of coastal waters to offshore drilling. Nearly 40% of Americans live along the coastlines that Trump’s order affects.

Trump tried this during his first administration, too. We sued and stopped him then, just as we intend to now.

IRA Grants: Farmers, Nonprofits Sue Trump Administration for Freezing Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Grants

The IRA was the largest climate investment in U.S. history. But the Trump administration is trying to pull back funding, including for grants that were already approved by Congress.

This is not government efficiency. It is thoughtless waste that inflicts unwarranted financial pain on small farmers and organizations trying to improve their communities.

That’s why we’re going to court to reinstate the grants.

Email to Pollute: No More Free Passes to Pollute for Coal Plants

The EPA is brazenly deregulating coal plants. Any coal plant in the country could simply send them an email requesting an exemption from pollution protections. Since the EPA announced this policy in March, President Trump already granted blanket exemptions to at-minimum 68 coal-fired power plants.

It is illegal, and it is harming communities across the country who will be exposed to more mercury and arsenic.

We are suing to protect the air we breathe and uphold the rule of law.

Friend, without your support, none of our legal action would be possible. Thank you.

Donate today to support our lawsuits and help protect our communities, our future, and the planet we love.
