John, the news coming out of D.C. isn’t normal. It’s a threat to all of us.

Today, Donald Trump announced that he's deploying the National Guard in our nation’s capital and placing the D.C. police department under federal control.

This power grab is yet another attempt to drag our country further into MAGA authoritarianism.

What we’re seeing isn’t an aspiring dictatorship. It’s been happening since January, it’s happening right now, and it’s happening with his regime’s full support. This is unlawful and dangerous, and it's a test to see how far the Trump Administration can go in its full takeover.

We need strong Democratic leaders in office to provide checks on Donald Trump and his authoritarian administration.
