In 2018, we pulled off something huge: Our district had the biggest swing from Republican voters to a Democrat in the entire country. With this team’s help, I became the first Democrat to hold this seat in more than three decades.

Here’s why: Our message resonates with New Jersey voters.

Traditional political labels don’t define who I am. Above all, I’m a veteran, I’m the mother of four, I’m a wife, and I’m a daughter. (My mom, Pattie, even volunteers at my D.C. office, answering phone calls!)

I have a deep, deep belief in this country, our democracy, and the values that we have traditionally promoted across the world. My love of our country -- not political labels or political ambitions -- is what drives me and it’s what drives this campaign. I’ve devoted my life to serving this country because I deeply believe in it and our shared values.

But those shared values aren’t being represented in Washington.

People have lost faith in our government. They see leaders make big promises only to break them. While there is widespread agreement on issues like fixing our infrastructure and preventing gun violence, our leaders refuse to take action to address those issues because they are frozen by extreme partisanship.

Something has to change.

Washington Republicans are plotting a comeback in New Jersey and have mobilized to defeat me. They’re putting money into polls and have launched attack ads against me. If we don’t organize now, my seat, the House Majority, and my ability to fight for New Jersey families in Washington will all be at risk.

I don’t buy that this country is broken. We have the tools to fix our greatest issues. We just need the will.

I have the will. I’m putting it into action every day in Congress, but I need you right there with me, so we can pull off something great again in 2020.
