New York, if it was an independent country, would be the ninth-largest economy in the world. At the same time, we have the largest wealth inequality gap of any state.
That gap reflects an absence of moral leadership determined to put people before profits.
Here in New York — a blue state, at that — the political elite keep themselves in power with corporate giveaways at the expense of folks earning poverty wages.
It’s why families can’t afford to live here.
It’s why people are moving to other states.
And it’s why I’m proud to support the Invest in Our New York campaign.
This suite of legislation would be the single greatest step taken toward closing the wealth gap in New York history.
But Kathy Hochul has already made it clear she has no desire to upset the source of her political power — corporate greed.
In other words, she has no interest in tackling wealth inequality in our state.
At a time when federal Republicans are robbing the social safety net to give billionaires handouts, Hochul is doubling down on defending her corporate donors — not everyday New Yorkers.
It’s exactly why Democrats are more unpopular today than we have been in decades. We aren’t delivering for our communities, we’re selling them out in the face of unchecked corporate power.
I am running for governor because New Yorkers deserve someone who will fight for the least among us.
It’s why I don’t take a cent of corporate PAC money. If we’re going to push back and offer a new vision for the Democratic party, I’m counting on support from grassroots supporters like you.
That’s why I'm humbly asking you:
Can you please make a contribution of $10 or whatever you can afford to my campaign? I will put these donations right to work building a winning operation and fighting for a fairer future.
If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process now. |
Thank you for all you're doing,
Antonio
