Stop the Budget Cuts—One Last Push! Dear Members, Final decisions on the City budget will be made on Monday and Tuesday of this week. While the threat of the “People’s Budget,” which would have cut LAPD down by over 90%, has been forcefully rejected, a proposal to cut our budget remains. We still need your help. This week we launched the two television commercials featured above which are appearing on TV stations throughout our media market. One focuses on the improvements made by our Department and how those improvements will be hampered by budget cuts. The second focuses on the impacts on response times and crime. We have established a new e-mail campaign, this time aimed at the entire City Council. Please take the less than two-minutes needed to lodge your opposition to cuts to our budget one last time with the City Council. Click below to complete the process and please share the link with your friends and family. Even if you took action for us last week, we need you to do so again. Finally, one of our aims with our public campaign is to ensure that no matter how the vote on the budget ends up, the public will be educated on who supports public safety and who does not. Voter accountability is the ultimate accountability for our elected leaders. Thank you for your continued support and your hard work and professionalism on the job.
