Washington, D.C. | www.mpac.org | August 11, 2025 —Israel announced its plan to illegally conquer Gaza City, an alarming escalation in its ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people. This move would escalate the mass displacement of over 1.2 million Palestinians, most of whom are already enduring man-made famine, disease, and the trauma of relentless bombardment by the Israeli government. The deliberate targeting of civilians and infrastructure is not only morally indefensible, but it is a direct violation of international law.
The United States cannot continue funding this devastation. American taxpayer dollars are enabling this forced displacement, collective punishment, and the illegal use of offensive weapons in one of the most densely populated civilian areas in the world. Continued U.S. support makes our government complicit in war crimes and crimes against humanity.
MPAC calls on all people of conscience, especially our elected officials, to take immediate and decisive action:
Suspend all U.S. military funding to Israel that enables the occupation, ethnic cleansing, and systematic targeting of civilians in Gaza by supporting H.R. 3565 – the Block the Bombs Act.
Enforce existing U.S. laws, including the Leahy Laws and the Arms Export Control Act, to block all assistance to military units credibly accused of gross human rights violations.
Provide uninhibited humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, ensuring that life-saving medical supplies, food, clean water, and essential services reach civilians without delay or obstruction by supporting both S.Res.224 & H.Res.473.
Uplift voices of reason—including national security experts, hostage families, and human rights advocates—who affirm that permanent occupation will never deliver peace or safety.
