Dear John:

There has been a lot of misinformation surrounding what the One Big Beautiful Bill will and won't do, particularly when it comes to Medicaid. My colleagues in the Minnesota delegation want to make sure Minnesotans know the truth, so we joined together to write an article setting the record straight.

The One Big Beautiful Bill is not tearing healthcare away from the people who need it. It is cutting out waste, fraud, and abuse within the program. It's preventing taxpayers from subsidizing health care for illegal aliens, removing deceased recipients from Medicaid rolls, and requiring states to conduct more frequent eligibility checks to ensure people are not enrolled in multiple states. It is also going to implement a $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program to support rural hospitals and expand access to home and community-based services for low-income seniors and individuals living with disability. Both of these provisions will help strengthen our rural communities.

Before you take the fearmongers at their word, I encourage you to second-guess them and learn the facts. You can read our full article here.

Mobile Office Hours in Little Falls WEDNESDAY

Image

My office is holding mobile office hours at the Little Falls Carnegie Library on Wednesday, August 13, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. No appointment necessary!

If you have questions or feedback for my office, now is your chance to talk with my congressional staff directly. They can help you with issues such as passport processing, veterans’ needs, tax refunds, Social Security benefits, and also connect with federal agencies (FEMA, the FSA, and more).

If you aren't able to make this one, keep an eye out for future mobile office hours across the Seventh District. For any questions, please call my office at 320-403-6100.

Farmfest!

Farmfest is one of my favorite events of the year and I was excited to be there with a number of my colleagues and USDA Deputy Secretary Judge Stephen Alexander Vaden.

I joined my colleagues Reps. Pete Stauber, Brad Finstad, and Angie Craig on a panel to discuss the One Big Beautiful Bill and what Congress is doing for our farmers. It was great taking questions from the audience on trade and how the Ways and Means Committee is working closely with the Trump Administration to expand export markets for them, bringing our ag producers to the forefront.

After the panel, we walked around with USDA Deputy Secretary Vaden and introduced him to producers from across the state. It was an honor to have him here in Minnesota to hear from constituents and take their comments and suggestions back to USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins.
