“U.S. Supreme Court declines Texas Democrats' request to allow all Texans to vote by mail”
John -- Texas is the state to flip in 2020 and Republicans know it. That’s why the state’s Attorney General threatened to file lawsuits against any groups encouraging Texas voters to sign up for to vote-by-mail.
Now, SCOTUS has ruled the vote-by-mail will not be available to all Texans any time soon -- even as the state’s COVID-19 cases are rising.
We need to do everything in our power to make it easier to vote-by-mail in swing states that offer Democrats a path to victory. We’re focused on North Carolina, Michigan, and Pennsylvania -- three states we need to win to defeat Trump. Send mail-in ballot applications directly to these voters and we’ll win in 2020.
The SCOTUS decision is disappointing but we can’t say we’re surprised.
Waiting and relying on the courts to fix our elections hasn’t worked in recent history. It was seven years ago this week that the Supreme Court's decision dismantled the heart of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
That’s why we’re taking the grassroots initiative to make it easier to vote-by-mail.
Making voting by mail accessible in North Carolina, Michigan, and Pennsylvania means more voters can vote from home and don’t have to risk getting sick by going to a polling place. Our grassroots movement is making it easier for these swing state voters to cast their ballots by mail. Chip in to make a difference.
Thank you for taking action in the midst of bad court rulings and destructive decisions by the court.
Thank you,
