Dear John,

Happy back-to-school season!

If you’re a parent, you probably share my feelings on this: I want to give my children every opportunity to grow into their God-given purpose.

Every person has worth and potential. So, as we serve families impacted by incarceration, our goal isn’t just to prevent children from entering the justice system. It’s to see children thrive and embrace bright futures! But families impacted by parental incarceration may not know the full scope of service options available in their community. And some organizations struggle to connect with those they hope to serve.

Prison Fellowship works to bridge the gap. We equip local churches, corporations, philanthropic groups, and other community organizations to come alongside our neighbors who are impacted by incarceration. With friends like you, we are helping provide meaningful

first and second chances for people to be who God created them to be.

That’s why

Angel Tree hosts STEM camps allowing kids to envision themselves in a career path they hadn’t before. We host youth in five focus cities—Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, and Phoenix—with plans to add more in the future. Camps provide children of incarcerated parents the chance to receive hands-on engagement in skills relating to science, technology, engineering, and math. Families are uplifted by caring volunteers who want to share the love of Jesus.

For example, earlier this year, Bethel New Life Church in Chicago hosted an Angel Tree STEM camp, where 35 children were treated to a day of fun and exploration. Project Exploration, a local nonprofit, provided hands-on activities including a robotic obstacle course powered by an iPad controller; a solar system exhibit, complete with an interactive game; a micro:bit coding and digital creation station; and more!

Prison Fellowship staff also held a special session designed for parents and guardians, providing encouragement and community. Families received opportunities for prayer and free devotionals.
I would definitely recommend this. It’s a good time to ... be encouraged and involved with others.

I found a lot of resources for me and my daughter. The staff was very beautiful, very welcoming … hopefully me and my daughter can grow in this fellowship.
