I’m a Black man raised by a single mother in a housing project. That story doesn’t usually end in Congress.

But, that 11-year old boy beaten by police is about to serve New York’s 16th District in Congress.

I can't wait to get to DC and cause problems for those maintaining the status quo. I’m ready to join Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, and Elizabeth Warren in legislating for bold, progressive policies.

But, the reality is that we need even more leaders in Congress who are willing to go up against the establishment and fight for real change. Which is why Justice Democrats’ work is so important. They are working every single day to recruit and support more candidates like me to run for Congress and win.

Justice Democrats fought to help me win on Tuesday night. Now, we need to make sure they have the resources to keep making good trouble and transforming the Democratic Party to serve the voters. Which is why I’m asking:

Will you contribute $3 to Justice Democrats right now to help them recruit and support more candidates who will join me in causing problems in Washington for those who maintain the status quo? I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important.
