Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Republican-led majority in the state legislature are trying to change the rules and push through new maps that would allow Republicans to pick up five House seats in next year’s midterm elections.

Texas Democrats have literally had to flee the state to avoid voting for these new gerrymandered maps. Donald Trump is now calling for the arrest of these elected officials. This is how authoritarians act, John.

This isn’t just about Texas. It’s about all of us. Voters should choose their elected officials—not the other way around.

Republicans won’t stop at trying to suppress the vote in Texas. They’ll do whatever it takes to rig the system and cheat their way into winning next year so they can continue enabling the Trump regime.
