I want to share some updates with you from Congress and the great state of Georgia. Here are three things you need to know:

1. The George Floyd Justice in Policing Act passed in the House of Representatives. The bill is supported by the NAACP, the Congressional Black Caucus, and the House Judiciary Committee – but Republicans intend to turn this crucial civil rights legislation into yet another partisan battle. I believe that human dignity should not be a divisive issue, and I call on my colleagues in the Senate to pass this bill.


2. The House Appropriations Committee held a virtual hearing this week to listen to the priorities of our colleagues and their constituents. As a leader on the committee, I am advocating to invest in voting rights, increased COVID treatment and testing in low-income communities, and support for farmers to have what they need to grow the food that feeds our country. To discuss your priorities, leave me a message in my suggestion box.


3. June 30, this upcoming Tuesday, is the quarterly filing deadline. My campaign for reelection is not on track to meet its fundraising benchmarks, and I need your help.
