John,

It’s been one of those weeks that makes you say WTF, and not just because Trump tweeted about being “the chosen one” and “king of Israel” after making extremely anti-semitic comments calling more than 70% of the American Jewish population “disloyal” for supporting Democrats.

He and his administration are doubling down on their attacks against immigrants and people of color, in a truly scary way. I’m not exaggerating when I say these are acts of evil:

1. We already know the administration has been going against a court order and continuing to separate migrant families and even breaking the law by detaining them for more than the legal maximum of 20 days. Now, they’re proposing to change the rules so they can legally detain children and families INDEFINITELY.


2. Despite the rampant spread of illnesses in this administration’s concentration camps and the deaths of three migrant children who had the flu while detained, Customs and Border Patrol is defying the medical community’s warnings and refusing to give flu vaccines to children and adults in detention centers.


3. Trump took to the White House lawn yesterday to tell reporters he thinks the Constitutional right to citizenship granted to anyone born in the United States is “frankly ridiculous,” and he wants to get rid of birthright citizenship.

There’s no question anymore John: Trump and his administration are purposefully persecuting and harming immigrants and people of color, regardless of their citizenship status or the rule of law.

We cannot stand idly by while this bigoted, egotistical fascist moves our country down this dark, dangerous path we’ve seen repeated throughout history. We cannot let more people die by the hands of our government. We cannot let Trump do away with the Constitution and our democratic norms to fulfill his sick agenda.
