The crisis in Texas is getting worse by the day.
Trump and his fascist cronies in Texas are still pushing a redistricting map to lock in 5 more GOP-controlled House seats—engineered intentionally to silence Black and Brown voters and rig the 2026 midterms.
And now, Governor Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton are ratcheting up threats to force it through.
Abbott has vowed to keep calling special sessions until Democrats cave—warning they’d have to stay away “for years” to block the map. Paxton has filed lawsuits to remove absent Democrats from office, the House has issued civil arrest warrants, and lawmakers are facing financial penalties, including having paychecks withheld.
The Texas House still hasn’t reached a quorum, but they’re expected to try again Monday. The window to stop this power grab is closing.
This fight isn’t over—it’s escalating. Let’s meet it head-on.
