Good Morning Revolution: Eyewitness: Assault on the Gaza aid flotilla Join us for an eyewitness conversation with our comrade, Braedon, who was aboard the Handala, the most recent ship organized by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. Activists on the boat were attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. Braedon and other flotilla members were attacked, arrested, and deported by the Israeli military.
The crisis in Gaza is on a new level as the right-wing Zionist Netanyahu government, amid a continued flow of U.S. weapons to Israel, has added death by starvation to the genocidal arsenal it is using against the Palestinian people. Within one month, the entire population of Gaza is projected to enter phase three hunger, and half a million to enter the fifth and final stage. At least 188 people have already been starved to death, including 94 children. Meanwhile, the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a U.S. contractor, delivers food under a hail of bullets, even as 26 countries — including France, Canada, and the UK — have issued statements of condemnation, calling for an end to the war. A growing number of countries are now implementing sanctions against Israel.
What will it take to force the hands of Trump and Netanyahu, end the genocide, and realize the Palestinian people’s right to form their own independent state? What lessons can be gleaned from the struggle to end apartheid in South Africa?
