The Republican majority recently voted to strip federal funding for public media.
I opposed this bill because it will make our nation less safe especially for rural and underserved communities that depend on public broadcasting not only for trusted news and educational programming, but often as their only source of emergency alerts and weather-related information.
We must reverse this cruel and misguided action.
That’s why I’m asking for your input today. As we fight to restore funding, I want to hear directly from you: Do you support continued federal funding for NPR and public broadcasting?
Public media has long been a cornerstone of civic engagement, community safety, and education, especially in areas that commercial networks often ignore. Cutting these resources is not only short-sighted, but it undermines bipartisan commitments and threatens the integrity of future legislative agreements.
Because of these devastating cuts, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which helps fund thousands of local NPR and PBS stations, will be forced to begin shutting down critical operations, especially in rural areas where alternatives simply don’t exist.
If you agree that these cuts are unacceptable, I hope you’ll take a moment to make your voice heard by taking our quick survey below.
Thank you,
Frank Mrvan
