The IJM Advocacy & Mobilization Newsletter
Updates for IJM Advocates

John,

In this time of chaotic political rhetoric, it’s easy to question the impact of your own voice. But I continue to be inspired by faithful advocates — like you — who persist in fighting for justice.

In just a few months, hundreds of advocates will gather in Washington, DC for our Advocacy Summit to speak up for the rights of vulnerable women and children. We will fill the halls of power and raise our voices to help bring an end to violence in Central America. Our voices do have power — and when we raise them together, that power is amplified.

And even before the Summit gets here, there are many ways to raise your voice now. Start a conversation with your friends and neighbors. Share my colleague Jim Martin’s recent article in Christianity Today. Contact your elected officials in support of the new Central America Women and Children Protection Act.

Take a step. Raise your voice. And know that other advocates will be right there with you.

Until all are free,

Nate King
Regional Mobilization Manager

Holly’s News from Washington

In this installment of Holly’s News from Washington, Holly gives us her insight on the Central American Women and Children Protection Act. Find out what the passage of these bills could mean for the most vulnerable, and why your advocacy has the power to make a difference now more than ever.

Check out our op-ed in Christianity Today!

Earlier this summer, Jim Martin, IJM's Vice President of Spiritual Formation, penned the op-ed “Aid Cuts Threaten Central American Women and Children,” where he shared about the reality of everyday violence in Central America and how the Church can pursue caring for victims of violence.

Read the article now to learn what biblical principles Jim says can help us “avoid divisive vitriol and engage in meaningful discussion leading to Christ-like action.”
