Friend,
While the House is in recess, I’m not slowing down one bit. I love Central and Southern Illinois – and I’m spending this time out of Washington meeting with leaders, organizations, and working people across the district.
I’ve compiled my latest updates below, and it’d mean a lot to me if you read them the whole way through. But I understand folks are busy this summer, so if you’re short on time,
chipping in $3 would help keep me in Congress fighting for you.
Thank you,
Nikki
Illinois farmers are facing uncertainty due to the Trump Administration’s reckless tariffs, lack of small business support, and canceled agriculture programs. I joined the IL Farm Bureau Roundtable to hear directly from those on the ground and brainstorm real solutions and stability.
I spoke with folks in Edwardsville and Champaign about the MAGA GOP abandoning working families – and how we must demand better. This was one of my many stops on my summer travels meeting face-to-face with IL-13 communities who want to hear how I’m standing up for them.
Not only are farmers and working people under attack, but LGBTQ+ folks are facing real threats. I was honored to meet with this community and hear what I can do in Washington to ensure their rights are respected and protected – not taken away.
Despite the troubling actions by this administration in the last weeks and months, I’m not giving up – not now, not ever. I’m energized by the folks I’ve met this summer who feel the same way and are mobilizing their communities.
I hope you feel as inspired as I do by Central and Southern Illinois. I’ll continue to keep pushing at home and back in Washington to stand up for working families and the thousands of Illinoisans under threat.
Thank you, and have a great weekend!
Nikki
