John --

Leaders are emerging on the ground in communities every day. People are taking direct action in their own hands, because this is how we change the world -- one fierce, committed activist at a time.

Leaders like Cori Bush in Missouri, who stood on the front lines of the Ferguson Uprising, worked as a registered mental health nurse and pastor and is now holding the line with activists in St. Louis to call for robust police reforms.

Leaders like Charles Booker in Kentucky who worked every level of government to try to bring equality and economic justice to the people of the Bluegrass State. From his role as Director of Personnel and Administrative Services for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife to his work as a Kentucky State Representative, Charles has held true to his fight for criminal justice reform, healthcare for all, and economic justice.

On June 5th Cori Bush joined Charles Booker in Louisville to remember the life of Breonna Taylor and call for justice. Some of Charles’ thoughts:

“I think it’s cutting across political, geographic divides, racial divides because we are seeing, not only here but nationally, what it looks like to understand the structural racism and inequity that’s crippling all of us and if we don’t fight back it will keep getting worse. So we are standing up. We are speaking out. These aren’t protests. This is an uprising. This is a commitment to transforming our future.” -- Charles Booker U.S. Senate candidate, Kentucky

Charles and Cori are driven to fight for change because they have lived the very struggles those in their communities face. They understand first-hand the devastating, generational impact of racial injustice and systemic oppression on the people of their communities. From St. Louis to Louisville, Cori and Charles stand on the front lines with those on the ground fighting to end these injustices.

At BNC we seek out organizers. We seek out those who have lived the struggle. We seek out candidates who best reflect those they will represent in Washington.

Charles Booker is poised to win in Kentucky and Cori Bush is gearing up for the first wave of ballots to be dropped in Missouri’s 1st district.

Help take these movements and activists on the ground to the halls of Congress! Sign up to support Charles and Cori and help them reach as many voters and gather as much support as they can to win these critical races.
