Pete Hegseth promotes his extremist pastor's call for "Christian domination"

If a patriarchal society where women are stripped of their right to vote, homosexuality is criminalized, and our government is ruled by "Christ the King" sounds abjectly horrifying to you, you're going to want to pay closer attention to the bashit crazy pastor Pete Hegseth follows and feels comfortable openly promoting from his very public perch as secretary of Defense. This shit is not for the faint of heart. Douglas Wilson, founder of Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho, boasts tens of thousands of followers online and once claimed that slavery promoted "affection between the races" in the American South. Seriously. This guy has Pete Hegseth's ear. Truly terrifying stuff.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: FBI pulls unprecedented stunt against Democrats

Texas Republicans, including US Sen. John Cornyn, have sicced the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Democratic lawmakers who lawfully fled the state to deny the state House a quorum to strip voting rights away from hundreds of thousands of Texans via an openly egregious gerrymandering scheme. Brian Tyler Cohen and Glenn Kirschner discuss the GOP's brazen abuse of power and the political ramifications of bringing the FBI into a state legislative matter.

Texas Democrats make defiant stand against GOP power grab

Powered by People: Rather than sit back and let the GOP redraw the maps to give themselves an unfair advantage in the 2026 midterms, Texas state Democrats have pulled out all the stops to derail this flagrant Republican power grab. They’ve left the state to deny the GOP the quorum they need to pass the maps and have no intention of coming home any time soon. These Democrats are laying it all on the line, risking arrest and racking up enormous fines in defense of our democracy. Will you chip in to help fuel their fight?

Fox News talking head accuses Zohran Mamdani of believing in "blowing up buses and cafes"
Republicans are freaking the fuck out over the prospect of a bona fide Democratic Socialist becoming mayor of New York City and are resorting to preposterous, comical levels of character assassination to scare voters in the Big Apple into voting against their own self-interest.

Justice Department takes revenge on one of Trump's top enemies
The Justice Department has opened an investigation into New York State Attorney General Letitia James, in an apparent act of Trumpian retribution. Two grand jury subpoenas were issued to James' office, requesting information pertaining to the attorney general’s previous investigations into the Trump Organization and the National Rifle Association. The subpoenas are related to Trump’s bank fraud case, which James won against Trump in 2024, forcing him to cough up $454 million for his family’s faulty business practices. That case is, of course, currently pending appeal.

Trump regime to send immigrants to violent prison with bloody history

The Trump administration is planning to send immigrants to a violent prison packed full of murderers that has a bloody history, and a popular rodeo, according to people familiar with the matter. The Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola houses around 3,400 inmates, 70 percent of whom are serving a life sentence. Over 90 percent of inmates are violent offenders. Even still, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency plans to ship immigrant detainees there, with 450 beds made available to help the administration’s deportation push. Eunice Cho, senior counsel at the American Civil Liberties Union’s National Prison Project, said this plan is astounding, especially given the facility’s violent history and reputation. “The idea of placing people in a brutal prison for alleged violations of immigration law is profoundly disturbing,” he told The Wall Street Journal. “There is a very long history of abuses at this particular facility.” He argued that the use of sites like Angola and the so-called “Alligator Alcatraz” for detaining immigrants is an attempt to sow “sadistic terror in immigrant communities.” A particularly bloody period in the 1960s and '70s, marked by routine knife attacks, cemented the facility’s grim reputation. Bizarrely, it is also known for its rodeo, held in an arena that seats 10,000 people.

Take Action: Investigate cruelty at ICE detention centers!

Far more environmental data is being deleted in Trump's second term than before
In perhaps the least surprising news of the day, the Trump regime is systematically wiping data from various government environmental websites, specifically targeting anything having to do with diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts and environmental justice. According to Environmental Data and Governance Initiative (EDGI), a nonprofit network of researchers who document loss of access and usability of government environmental information and preserve that information for public use, Trump officials are scrubbing data at an even faster clip than they did during the MAGA cult leader's first term, noting a 70% increase in said erasure efforts. Sounds about white.

Trump removes Billy Long as IRS commissioner less than 2 months after his confirmation
Welp, that didn't take long. Just another one of Trump's best people excelling so hard at his job he barely lasted five Scaramuccis.
