Good afternoon JOHN,

I’m here with another roundup of good news, because it is important to know that even in these tough times, when we fight we can win.

1. After weeks of pressure we forced the Trump Administration to release the education funding it illegally froze — including $29.3 million for Rhode Island for after school programs, English language learning, teacher training, and more. This cut would’ve been devastating to Rhode Island kids, and I’m thrilled that our advocacy helped to deliver this win.

3. We protected coastal states like ours by restoring $42.5 million to the Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) at the NOAA — money the Trump Administration illegally withheld. Now, Rhode Islanders and other coastal Americans will be able to continue receiving critical weather data for weather forecasting, and to keep fishermen and other Rhode Islanders who make their living on the water safe.

Even in these challenging times, we are still able to score important victories for hard working Rhode Islanders.

And this is why we have to flip the House — with a majority in the House, we will be able to do even more to deliver for the American people and ensure that our legislation serves everyone.
