WASHINGTON — “You’re up,” Sen. Katie Britt recalls Majority Leader John Thune telling her as they began the 119th Congress with the Laken Riley Act as the first bill on the Senate floor in January.
Six months after the immigration bill that Britt spearheaded became law, sitting in her Senate office for an interview, Alabama’s junior senator looked back on how she’s been able to advance some of her key priorities this year, sometimes with the help of Democrats. | | | U.S. Senator Katie Britt, R-Alabama, has partnered with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, D-New York, to introduce the Guarding Unprotected Aging Retirees from Deception (GUARD) Act, a bipartisan bill designed to shield older Americans from financial scams—particularly those exploiting cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies.
The GUARD Act would allow state and local law enforcement to use federal grant funding they already receive to hire personnel, train staff and deploy resources to investigate financial crimes involving blockchain. It would also authorize federal law enforcement to assist with advanced tracing tools, often unavailable to local agencies. | | | U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) recently introduced legislation to ban illegal aliens from voting in Washington, D.C. elections.
The legislation, joined by 21 of Britt's Republican Senate colleagues, including U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), seeks to stop the 2022 law passed by the Washington, D.C. City Council allowing noncitizens to vote in local elections. The D.C. law allowed for illegal aliens and foreign embassy staff members the ability to vote in elections for mayor, attorney general and city council members. | | | I didn’t run for Senate to sit on the sidelines. I’m a mom, a conservative, and proud to stand for every corner of Alabama—our cities, small towns, and rural communities alike. I’m rooted in faith, built on family, and committed to making Alabama stronger and better for generations to come. Alabama is a place of hard work, strong values, and unyielding independence. But the Left is trying to tear that all down. I didn’t come to Washington to play games. I came to fight for every Alabamian who feels forgotten and left behind. Whether it’s securing our borders, protecting our children, or defending our way of life, I’m here fighting for Alabama’s future. This fight isn’t easy, but it's worth it. And I’m not going anywhere. Will you stand with me? | | | | Celebrate conservative leadership and show your patriotism with this unique, high quality, Made-in-America hat. | | | Follow Katie On Social Media: | SIGN UP FOR SMS ALERTS: TEXT "KATIE" TO 27488 | By texting KATIE, you consent to join a recurring SMS/MMS text messaging program that will provide alerts, donation requests, updates, and other important information.
