Jobs in the Skilled Trades are in even higher demand as President Trump seeks to reindustrialize the U.S. and uplift the American worker. Many of these jobs come with great salaries and benefits. READ MORE | SAVE the Date: Walk-N-Roll at the Atlanta VA Clinic | Jobs & Career Resources Available in Georgia | From Our Constituent Services Desk... | We would like to introduce you to the Constituent Services side of a Congressional office. Also known as Congressional casework, this refers to the assistance that members of Congress may provide to constituents in navigating federal agencies or resolving specific issues, such as helping a veteran receive claim updates or expediting a passport application. While any thoughts, comments, or suggestions you may have regarding legislative matters are all handled by staff members in our DC office, casework issues are mainly worked on in the district office. In Congressman Loudermilk’s office we currently have three Constituent Services representatives, with over forty years of experience between them, helping constituents navigate federal agencies. They manage all casework issues involving federal matters that impact you directly. The most often requested assistance in the 11th Congressional District is with the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the U.S. Citizens and Immigration Services. If you need help with a federal agency, the Privacy Act of 1974 requires our office to obtain a completed and signed Authorization Form from the constituent directly involved in the matter. You can locate our Authorization Form on Congressman Loudermilk’s website. If you do not have online access, please contact our Woodstock District Office at 770-429-1776 for assistance. Once your Authorization Form is received, the case will be assigned to a caseworker who will be in contact with you, and keep you updated on the progress of your inquiry. Our Constituent Services Representatives try to obtain agency updates as quickly as possible, but there are no two cases alike, so response time can vary. While our office is ready to assist you with your federal issues, there are some matters which fall outside the jurisdiction of a congressional office, such as county, city, or state issues. Feel free to call our Woodstock office if you are not sure which office will be your best contact. We are glad to refer you to the appropriate office for non-federal issues. Watch for more articles in upcoming newsletters as we share interesting and important information about federal agencies and the constituent services which are available through Congressman Loudermilk’s office. We look forward to serving you should you need our assistance. | Fraud Alert Friday: Trump Moves to Thwart Offensive Waste of Tax Dollars | “Fraud Alert Friday" highlights waste, fraud, and abuse occurring across the federal government. Alert: President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday requiring his political appointees to review federal grants in order to prevent the “offensive waste of tax dollars” seen in prior administrations. The heads of each agency awarding grants will assign Trump’s appointees for annual reviews to ensure that federal grants “demonstrably advance the President’s policy priorities,” the executive order says. The White House listed several left-wing agendas that agencies are required not to “fund, promote, encourage, subsidize, or facilitate,” such as race-preferential programs and illegal immigration.
