Hi Team, it’s Delia Ramirez.
Last week, an acknowledgement I made of my Guatemalan roots was twisted into a false narrative. My words have been weaponized not only by conservatives — but even by the Department of Homeland Security.
Let me be clear: These attacks are rooted in xenophobia and racism.
I am proud to be a Guatemalan American. This is a ridiculous attack meant only to rile the far-right with false narratives and dangerous precedents. Ayanna is my sister-in-service, and we’re not standing for this. Will you split a donation with Ayanna and I to fight back and show that progressives like us can’t be silenced by Republican extremists?

As I have continued to push back against this administration, the far-right has called for me to be removed from my committees, stripped of my citizenship, and deported.
But here’s the truth: even though the far right is threatened by my very existence, I will not be silenced.
As a proud daughter of immigrants, my entire life and political work has been about uplifting working class people of every background. From advocating for housing as a human right to healthcare for all, I’m fighting for all communities. Ayanna Pressley does too.
This country, and we all, are at our best when we live into our values as a multiracial and multicultural democracy where our mosaic of cultures represent something new and uniquely American. It’s something we should be intensely proud of and work tirelessly to defend.
Together, we will keep speaking the truth — proudly.
In Solidarity,
Delia
