Trump’s been gutting federal grant funding, threatening thousands of public jobs — and Philly is one of the biggest targets.

This affects so many of Philly’s most vital industries. We’re talking about public health jobs, AmeriCorps mentors, local research teams, and so many more. These are all on the chopping block — and we’re going to really feel it here in PA-05.

The Philly Department of Health is already warning that 80% of its federally funded workers (that’s more than 100 people!) could lose their jobs. And local institutions like Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP) and Penn could see major research funding cuts, halting progress on life-saving science.

Not only are federal workers at risk of losing their jobs, but our critical blue-collar workforce is being threatened by this administration — and with it, the training, funding, and programming to help folks provide for their families, grow our economy, and strengthen our workforce.Philadelphia needs welders. These aren’t just numbers. This is deeply personal to all of us. Mary Gay has met with folks in our district whose jobs, services, and future are in jeopardy. She’s pissed — and she’s not staying quiet.
