Republicans are terrified they’re going to lose next year. So they’re rigging the game.

After Donald Trump ordered red states across the country to gerrymander their maps even further, Texas Republicans bent the knee. They just released a map that would kick FIVE Democrats out of office — creating a permanent, undeniably unrepresentative GOP supermajority.

Under their proposed map, only 21% of Texas’ Congressional seats would be held by Democrats, despite the fact that Democrats regularly earn over 40% of the statewide vote!

That’s not democracy. It’s a blatant attempt to install an indestructible Republican majority — not through a fair election, but by changing the rules in the middle of the game.

This isn’t complicated: In a democracy, voters should have the power to choose their politicians. Not the other way around.
