John,
We need Congress to stand firm against Trump’s toxic water agenda, but a key Senate committee just voted to advance legislation that would revoke $250 million in funding that had already been provided for lead pipe removal.

There is no safe level of lead in drinking water, and it is especially dangerous for children. It can lead to developmental disorders, damage to the nervous system and blood cells, and more – yet millions of families in the U.S. are still exposed to lead in their drinking water every single day.
With members like you behind us, we’ve been fighting to protect the historic Lead Out of Water Rule (the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements) that requires full lead service line replacement in a decade for most communities.
Together, we’ve defeated attempts to repeal the rule through Congress, and just this week – after thousands of messages sent from Food & Water Watch members – the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced it will defend the rule in court against industry lawsuits.
Trump’s EPA is defending the Lead Out of Water Rule because people like you took action, John. And we’ll keep the pressure on to make sure they don’t weaken or delay it.
But now, critical funding for lead service line removal is under threat – take action. ([link removed])
No Lead in Water! ([link removed])
The Senate Appropriations Committee recently voted to advance the next spending bill that will determine critical funding to keep our food and water safe. But rather than stand up for everyone’s right to clean, safe water, nearly all Senators, from both parties, voted to revoke funding that had already been provided to remove lead service lines – all in the name of displaying a bipartisan compromise.
As we head into this next budget fight, we need Congress members to stand firm – not trade away safe water in the name of compromise.
Send your Senators a message – don’t use safe water as a bargaining chip! ([link removed])
Onward together,
