Right now, Democrats in Texas are taking a stand against one of the most brazen power grabs we’ve seen in recent history. Under Donald Trump’s direction, Texas Republicans are trying to force through a redistricting scheme designed to rig future elections in their favor. 

As fellow Democrats, we understand what’s at stake here. If they succeed in Texas, you can bet Republicans will use this strategy in other states and attempt to steal the 2026 midterm elections. 

Republicans want to lock in MAGA control — not just in Texas, but nationwide. 

But Texas Democrats aren’t backing down. Lawmakers have taken the extraordinary step of leaving the state to block this sham redistricting plan. They’re now facing an onslaught of attacks from Texas Governor Greg Abbott and his far-right allies.
