John,
I was on the House floor on January 6th.
I never imagined having to use my training to protect myself and my colleagues that day.
I never imagined I’d be teaching them how to put on a gas mask and regulate their breathing.
I never imagined I’d be helping people get to safety as insurrectionists started streaming into the Capitol.
I never imagined I’d stay behind after the Capitol security came in to do one more sweep for anybody who might have frozen and gone to cocoon somewhere hard to find.
And I’ve got to be honest with you… I never imagined that somebody who was at the Capitol on January 6th, somebody who yelled “KILL EM” while Capitol Police were getting beaten by rioters would go on to get a senior adviser job at the Department of Justice.
But here we are.
If my race for Senate taught me anything it’s that winning is a whole lot better than losing.
These days, when we lose, we really lose. The entire world changes. So for me, that means the most important thing I can do is help our friends in tough campaigns win next year.
We have to win. It’s our only chance at stopping this.
I fought in the Marines. I was ready to fight on January 6th. It was a real fight to defeat Kari Lake last year. And now, I am fighting to win the House and Senate in 2026.
Thanks for the help,
