June is Pride Month -- a month to celebrate LGBTQ+ members of our community and to honor the struggles of that community on their path to freedom and equality.

And while there have been many victories -- including a critical recent Supreme Court ruling -- there is much more to be done to ensure full equality. That's why I am proud that my colleagues and I in the House have passed the Equality Act, which seeks to amend the Civil Rights Act to ensure LGBTQ+ people are afforded the same protections against discrimination as every other American.

Now, we need the Equality Act passed in the Senate, where Mitch McConnell has REFUSED to put it up for a vote. Join me in calling on the Senate to pass the Equality Act NOW so we can better protect our LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors → [[link removed]]

It is shameful that the Trump administration has chosen to attack the LGBTQ+ community by rolling back protections on transgender students, seeking to limit federal protections for LGBTQ+ individuals, eliminating federal recognition of transgender individuals, and implementing a ban on transgender service members in the military.

Thankfully, the Supreme Court just delivered a win for the LGBTQ+ community by ruling that federal employment discrimination laws protect LGBTQ+ employees from being fired for their sexual orientation or gender identity. It's a moment that deserves to be celebrated, but we must also see it as a call to further action, because too many LGBTQ+ Americans still face discrimination in many areas of public life.
