This week in Orange County, Ruth’s List alumnae Commissioners Kelly Martinez Semrad and Nicole Wilson did exactly that. Under threats of removal from office, they stood their ground and voted against a new addendum that would empower deputies to detain and transport federal detainees to ICE facilities — a move that would put public safety and community trust at risk.
