We need a health care solution that puts power back in your hands
<[link removed]>
Hello John,
There is talk in Congress of doing a bipartisan health care bill this fall
that would combine several ideas — some good, some not so good — into one bill.
This is an opportunity we can’t afford to miss. With next year being an
election year, a fall health care bill could be ourlast chance to make the U.S.
health care system more personalized and patient-driven.
That’s why we’re gearing up to push Congress to include as many provisions of
the Personal Option as we can.
Why the Personal Option matters: Unlike big-government approaches to health
care reform — like Medicare for All — thePersonal Option is the
doctor-supported plan that offers all Americans more flexibility and trusts you
to make your own decisions about your health care, from insurance coverage to
what doctors you can see to accessing new therapies.
The Personal Option is all about giving you and your family choice and control
over important health care decisions.
Here are just five Personal Option provisions we’ll be asking Congress to
include in any health care bill that may come up in the fall.
* Make tax-free health savings accounts available to more Americans,
including seniors, veterans, Native Americans, gig workers, and Medicaid
recipients.
* Tax-advantaged HSAs save you money by enabling you to pay and save for
health care, tax-free. HSAs put you in control of your own health care
decisions.
* Make workplace health insurance truly portable with CHOICE plans.
* CHOICE plans let workers use pre-tax dollars from their employer to buy
personally owned health insurance that they can take from job to job.
* Give lower-income Americans pre-funded HSAs so they can access better
doctors and hospitals.
* This would empower 5 million lower-income Americans to take control of
their health care and ensure better access to the affordable, quality care that
other Americans have.
* Let doctors own hospitals to reduce prices and improve quality and
convenience.
* Letting doctors own hospitals would lead to more competition and lower
prices, and quality of care improves when doctors have an ownership stake.
* Adopt site-neutral payments in Medicare, the VA, and TRICARE to reduce
hospital prices through competition.
* This would stop government health care programs from paying hospital-based
doctors more than they pay independent doctors, saving patients and taxpayers
billions.
Taken together, these changes would not only save taxpayers money but also
dramatically improve hardworking Americans’ ability to obtain hassle-free
health care they can afford.
As we take our ideas to Congress, we’d love to be able to show them how much
support the Personal Option enjoys across the country.
So, please, do two things for me:
1️⃣ Sign our petition in support of a Personal Option.

It really increases our impact when we can walk into a congressional office and
point to all the people who support what we’re doing.
2️⃣ Share this email with a friend to spread the word. We may have an
opportunity to make some positive change. Let’s take it!
Best,
