John -- Kentucky is on track to break primary voting records and vote-by-mail played a major role. Let’s look at the big picture:
In 2016, 38,112 Kentuckian voted by mail.
In 2020, they’re on track to reach nearly 800,000 absentee ballots cast. That’s a 2000% increase!
Vote-by-mail makes elections more accessible. Period. But only 10.9% of voters in our targeted swing states voted by mail in 2016. We need to increase that percentage to ensure voters are safe and the general election is accessible in 2020. We’re sending mail-in ballot applications directly to these voters in swing states.
Kentucky had record turnout and expanded vote-by-mail. And Republicans are taking note.
Already in Georgia and Iowa, states run by Republican politicians, they're putting barriers in place by banning state officials from sending mail-in ballot applications to voters.
Increased turnout has Republicans shaking in their boots. Our grassroots solution is the answer to making it easier to vote-by-mail.
Where politicians are failing, we can pick up the slack by sending mail-in ballot applications directly to voters and then reaching out with texts and calls to walk them through the process of requesting a ballot. Donate to be part of the grassroots movement that’s ensuring our elections are safe and accessible in 2020.
The results from Kentucky are encouraging. Let’s continue working to make it easy to vote-by-mail so we can have record turnout in November.
Thank you for being in this fight,
