They even called the police on me for trespassing. I'm an immigrant. My children are first generation Americans. Every day I read stories and watch videos of innocent people being violently detained and uprooted from their lives to serve Trump’s sick political agenda. As a human being, I’m completely repulsed by what's going on in our country. As a father, I’m deeply worried for all the immigrant kids who are scared right now. As a Congressman, I’m livid Kristi Noem and Donald Trump are carrying out these attacks on innocent people – and trying to hide it from ANY oversight. It’s my JOB to do this. As a member of the House Committee on Oversight, it’s my responsibility and legal right to hold these people to account. But the MAGA loyalists in the White House and Senate have made clear they have zero respect for the law – or the basic rights of our neighbors. This fight is personal to me. Trump’s policies are breaking apart families and putting lives in danger. So yes – I’m angry. But look, John – if I've learned anything in my life as an immigrant in this country, it’s that success comes from translating our anger and worry into action. That’s why I’m running for Senate. Because we need leaders with a backbone to FIGHT BACK against these attacks and stop Donald Trump before it’s too late.
