ICE is expanding. With a new push backed by $29 billion in federal funding, the agency is offering large incentives to new recruits and casting a wide net to fill 10,000 roles.

 

At the same time, dozens of immigration judges have been let go without cause. Some have spoken out, citing concern about the court system’s ability to keep up.

 

This is a structural shift. More enforcement agents, fewer adjudicators.
