A message from Council Leader, Councillor Neghat Khan
This week, we launched a survey alongside all nine councils in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire to get your views on what could be the biggest proposed shake-up to local government in over 50 years.
Your voice matters in shaping a shared future for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, and I urge all residents and businesses to take part in the consultation and complete the survey online. More information is below.

People across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire are being invited to share their views on the future of local government.
A six-week survey is now live, and aims to gather public feedback on what matters most to local people and organisations, to help shape new authorities’ priorities.
The survey is being led jointly by all nine councils in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, and there’s lots of information available on our joint LGR website.
Down at the riverside, works have been continuing at pace to prepare for the build and installation of Nottingham's new walking and cycling bridge.
This week, sections of the bridge were transported under police escort to a specialist yard to be painted.
The new bridge, funded by Central Government via the Transforming Cities fund is on track to be completed by spring 2026. The new bridge will be assembled at the riverside during late August and September and lifted into place this November.
Watch a short animated video showing how the bridge will be built and installed
