The day we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived: The Iowa State Fair kicks off today!
Between food contests, performances from musical guests like Def Leppard and T-Pain, and all of the fair rides you can imagine, I’m ready to swing into the next 10 days for all kinds of fair fun!
The state fair is also an opportunity for IDP to talk to Iowans about the important work we’re doing, and our plans to move Iowa forward in a new direction.
Iowa Democrats have been making a strong comeback this year. We’ve overperformed in all three of our special elections, hosted national Democratic guests like Governor Tim Walz, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and Senator Ruben Gallego (coming this weekend), and had strong turnout at events across the state.
We’re hearing from more and more Iowans about how they’re ready for change. And because of the enthusiasm from Iowa Democrats, all eyes are on Iowa this cycle - from the open governor’s race to congressional races to replacing Joni Ernst.
After years of failed leadership, Iowans are ready for change. It’s time for all of us to step up and make the most of this on-the-ground momentum to elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
