This is insanity.
The world is recoiling in horror from images coming out of Gaza. Starving families. Emaciated hostages. Flattened cities. Yet Netanyahu’s response is to escalate further.
Today, as hostage families protested outside, Israel’s security cabinet considered approving a push to intensify the war – including plans to force nearly one million civilians from Gaza City to make way for heavy strikes on one of the few areas not under full Israeli military control.
While extremists see this as an essential step for destroying and resettling Gaza, the IDF Chief – himself a Netanyahu appointee – has reportedly called it a strategic “black hole.”

The IDF chief is not alone:
- It’s a “lie” and a “fantasy” that this will free the hostages or defeat Hamas. It’s pushed by “messianic zealots,” said former heads of the Shin Bet and Mossad.
- "Netanyahu is leading Israel and the hostages to doom,” said a hostage family group.
- “We’re entering a Vietnam model, with eyes wide open,” said another security official.
Together, we have to make clear that prolonging this war will have intolerable consequences for Palestinians and Israelis alike. We have to expose extremists trying to disguise Gaza takeover plans as being about hostages or security.

Friends – Six hundred former Israeli officials last week wrote to President Trump calling for him to pressure Netanyahu into a war-ending hostage deal – a deal that’s been on the table in various forms for over a year.
These are people who’ve spent their lives fighting threats like Hamas. Their warnings deserve to be heeded – not silenced, smeared or shouted down by Netanyahu loyalists and ideologues more interested in controlling Gaza indefinitely than freeing the hostages or charting a course to long-term peace.
President Trump needs to wake up. If he truly wants to end the horror and get hostages home, he must exert real pressure now. Americans know all too well that endless occupation with no post-war plan leads only to more bloodshed, chaos and war. We cannot enable this madness.
