Netroots Nation is an important gathering of progressive leaders to come together and plan for the roads and fights ahead. Right now, we’re the underdogs in this fight for our democracy. But I know a thing or two about being an underdog.

Billionaires are lining up behind right-wing politicians who are willing to sell out Iowa communities statewide. To me, being a Democrat means standing with everyday people — not billionaires, and not lobbyists. Iowans work hard and aren’t asking for much — just leaders who care and are enough to thrive in the richest nation on earth. 

I believe in the power of the people, John, and together, we can build a country where underdogs don’t just survive — they win. If you have a minute, will you watch my speech at Netroots today?
