Last Sunday afternoon, Texas Democrats hopped on a plane and fled TX to break quorum in order to stop Republicans from stealing the 2026 midterm elections. Some of these Texas Democrats even stopped by next door right here in New Mexico last week. 

After Donald Trump demanded that Texas Republicans redraw their state maps to ensure Republicans can cheat their way to 5 more congressional seats, Texas Democrats sprung into action to ensure that Trump doesn’t get his way.

New Mexico Democrats stand with our next door neighbor Texas Democrats trying to defend our democracy and the future of fair elections. 

We’re asking our supporters to also stand with Texas Democrats.

Donate here to split a contribution between DPNM and the Texas Democratic Party. Texas Democrats are leading the charge in protecting our democratic institutions, and they can use all the help they can get.

These Texas Democrats are doing this at great personal sacrifice. In addition to being away from their family (and jobs) for as long as this may take, they are also being fined $500/day and will be lambasted with negative ads in their district funded by Governor Greg Abbott. If they are going to be able to hold out long enough for this to count, they’re going to need our help.

New Mexico Democrats want to show these fighters that we have their back! If you make a contribution to this email, it will be split between the New Mexico and Texas Democratic Parties in order to help the Texas Democrats fund this very expensive fight for all of our sake.

This is the fight to save democracy that Democrats have been warning about for years. Republicans are scared because of Trump’s horrifically unsuccessful second term, so they’re trying to cheat. It’s going to take all of us to ensure that this bold attempt to steal this republic does not go unchallenged.
