Hi, it’s Deborah Ross,
Recently I’ve joined my colleagues Congresswoman Strickland and Senators Markey and Slotkin in supporting the Gun Violence Prevention Research Act.
This legislation comes at a critical time, and I’ll tell you why. But first, I need your help.
Will you sign on to demand Congress pass the Gun Violence Prevention Research Act? Let’s reach 5,000 signatures by midnight to show unwavering support from NC-02.
Our nation is facing an epidemic: gun violence is the leading cause of death among teenagers in America.
Nearly 47,000 people died from gun violence in 2023, and 1,400 children died just last year.
These aren’t just statistics — real lives are being lost.
And instead of taking action, Donald Trump and Republicans are actively blocking gun violence prevention efforts.
They’ve slashed staffing at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and eliminated more than half the federal funding for dedicated programs at the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Meanwhile, Republican politicians continue to take campaign funds from the NRA for political gain. It’s shameful and unconscionable.
I’m proud to stand with my Democratic colleagues who are stepping up to lead the charge in addressing this crisis. We have seen the effects of gun violence in our communities.
The Gun Violence Prevention Research Act would help offset Trump's devastating cuts and allocate over $50 million over the next five years for gun violence prevention research.
Will you add your name now to show your support for finding meaningful solutions to ending gun violence and saving lives? While one signature may not seem like much, together we can send a powerful message.
In this fight with you,
Deborah Ross
