As the daughter of teachers, the importance of education was instilled in me from a young age.

My parents taught me that education is the key to a better, safer world — and this belief has guided me throughout my time in public service.

In Congress, I’ve fought hard for affordable, quality education for everyone.

I’ve co-led the bipartisan IDEA Full Funding Act to ensure all kids with disabilities can access a free, high-quality public education. And I’ve stood up for Oregonians to stop cuts to the Department of Education — because our children can’t afford them.

There’s still a lot of work left to do to fight for our kids and build a better future for their generation. But I’m proud to be putting my parents’ teachings into practice and doing everything I can to put our kids first.
