John,
Just like in 2017, Trump is once again targeting people from Muslim-majority and African nations under the pretense of “national security.” He has revived the same cruel, discriminatory travel ban that devastated thousands of families, separated loved ones, and slammed the door on people fleeing violence and persecution. This time, he’s gone even further.
The good news: Congress has a bill ready to fight back—the NO BAN Act. Introduced by Senator Chris Coons and Representative Judy Chu, the NO BAN Act would prevent any president from issuing discriminatory immigration bans ever again. It would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to ensure that future travel bans must be based on evidence, reviewed by Congress, and grounded in our values—not political fearmongering or bigotry.
Send a direct message to Congress urging them to pass the NO BAN Act.

Representative Chu issued a statement:1
“A hateful stain on our nation’s history, the Muslim Ban that President Trump instituted in his first term was fueled by bigotry and Islamophobia and did lasting damage to the families it separated. Distressingly, President Trump has already started the process to fulfill his campaign promise to reinstate a ban, signing an Executive Order on his first day back in office that lays the groundwork for a future, and potentially expanded, Muslim Ban. That’s why I am joining Senator Coons and my Democratic colleagues to once again introduce the NO BAN Act to make certain that no president can ever ban people from entering the country solely because of their religion.”
This is a ban rooted in xenophobia, racism, and hatred that doesn’t make anyone safer. Many members of Congress have spoken out against Trump’s and Stephen Miller’s latest travel ban, thanks in part to pressure from the tens of thousands of messages that were sent by supporters like you. But words aren’t enough in this urgent moment.
Join us in calling on Congress to pass the NO BAN Act!
Thank you for all you do,
